Oregon’s Political Contribution Tax Credit

Camacho Solid State Tax

(ORS 316.102)

Oregon allows a tax credit for political contributions up to $50 for a single taxpayer and $100 for taxpayers filing jointly.  The credit must be claimed in the same tax year as contributed.  Qualifying contributions include candidates and their principal campaign committees, political action committees, and political parties.

This credit phases out completely if your federal AGI (Adjusted Gross Income) exceeds $150,000 on a jointly filed return, or $75,000 on all other returns.  Contributions of goods or services do not qualify and you must reduce the amount of your contribution by the fair market value (FMV) of any items or services you receive in exchange for your contribution.
